Senior Frontend Engineer

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at ATARise, you will lead the development of our student-facing platform built with Next.js, React, and TypeScript. You will work closely with designers and product managers to create intuitive, performant, and accessible interfaces that make exam preparation engaging and effective.

• Lead frontend architecture decisions and establish patterns for the team
• Build and maintain core student-facing features including exam interfaces, analytics dashboards, and study tools
• Optimise performance to meet Core Web Vitals targets across all pages
• Implement responsive, accessible UI components using our design system
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and pair programming
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and data contracts

• Minimum 5 years professional frontend development experience
• Expert-level React and TypeScript skills
• Strong understanding of Next
• js App Router, Server Components, and modern rendering strategies
• Experience with real-time data, WebSockets, or similar technologies
• Solid grasp of CSS architecture, responsive design, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2
• 1 AA)
• Proven track record of shipping production applications

• Experience with education technology or edtech platforms
• Familiarity with Supabase, PostgreSQL, or real-time databases
• Experience with animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP)
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Understanding of VCE curriculum or Australian education system
